Komy Mirror AT AVIATION WEEK'S AEROSPACE EXPO '99
--- The First Overseas Exhibition ( Long Beach, CA U.S.A., Nov.18 and 19, 1999 )
1. |
PURPOSE
|
| |
"Komy Mirror" is the first flat-surfaced mirror in the world to have
as wide field of view as a convex mirror. The mirror is super-light
weight, super-thin, easy to install and lean-designed in comparison
with other mirrors.
The Komy Mirror was a great invention made from not only ideas and
advanced technology, but also with the skilled hands of our Japanese
work force and developed by "komy" to be put to practical use.
In Japan's consumer market, the demand for Komy Mirror is on the rise.
In order to eliminate "blind spots" in elevators, garage exits and
so on, more and more Komy Mirror practicality is being discovered
and put to use in many fields.
As
far as the applicability of "Komy Mirror" for aircraft is concerned,
its use is just beginning and provide enormous help to the aviation
industry. However, we have believed that the number of people who
actually have handled the Komy Mirror and closely inspected it may
be less than a thousand.
Therefore, we took this opportunity to participate in this exhibition
to show as many people as possible how effectively Komy Mirror
works with aircraft operations and how innovative this mirror is
in clearing blind spots in the aircraft cabin.

How We Demonstrated |
| |
After we earnestly discussed how to achieve
the purpose stated above and how to familiarize those in attendance
with our company, "komy", we conducted the following two special
demonstrations.
| 1 |
We displayed a mock-up B747-400 BIG STOWAGE BIN and installed
a Komy Mirror inside of the stowage bin. The attendees were
impressed by how clearly they could view the entire area inside
the stowage bin by just looking at a reflection from the comparatively
small-sized mirror. |
| 2 |
We handed out a miniature sample of the Komy Mirror to the attendees.
It was designed especially to be placed on a computer display
so that a person looking at the display can view the entire
scenery behind him or her while operating the computer at
the same time. We hoped that people would be so interested
in this fun and a petite mirror on their computer display
that they would visit our web site and chat about the Komy Mirror.

IMPRESSION |
| |
In comparison with usually quiet and polite attendees at exhibition
halls in Japan, the attendees at this exhibition were very lively
and inspired. For instance, while we were giving the presentation,
the curious would stop at our booth and start listening very intently
about our product, often giving us very positive feedback and precious
comments.
Here are some of their comments that we received at site.
"The mirror is very useful because I can not see inside of a stowage bin without stepping onto the aircraft seats."
"Although I am tall, I could not see inside of the stowage bin well.
However, using this compact mirror, I can now see the whole area
of the stowage bin."
Examining the miniature sample we handed out, one of the attendees
began to laugh and said, "If I put this on my office computer display,
I will be able to tell when my boss tries to see if I am really
working or not."

Conclusion |
| |
We were the only exhibitor from Japan at this exhibition. We felt that
the Komy Mirror received quite a bit of attention and interest from
attendees. Also, we found that our company name "komy", enjoyed
great name recognition in the overseas markets. Finally, the opportunity
for us to present Komy Mirror at this exhibition was very rewarding,
and helped us to become acquainted with more potential overseas
customers. |
We will be looking forward to hearing from many more domestic
and other overseas countries as more and more people discover the
great advantages of using the Komy Mirror. |
