Korean Air installs KomyMirrors as standard in their 19 existing A330 planes!

Komy Co., Ltd. has announced that Korean Air has placed an order for 2,633 KomyMirrors, which will be installed in the stowage bins in 19 of their A330 planes. Korean Air already installed KomyMirrors in its new planes, such as the 777 and A380, before putting them into operation. However, this is the first occasion that they have placed an order directly with Komy for KomyMirrors to be installed in existing planes. The order was made in January 2013, and the installation of the KomyMirrors will commence in February.

The mirror adopted by Korean Air was designed specially for them by Komy. Specifically, the top of the mirror has a warning label stating “Please Check Your Belongings,” in both English and Korean. The warning notifies passengers of the function of the mirror, and prompts them to make sure that they have left any baggage behind in the stowage bins. Flight attendants can also use the mirrors during their security check. Furthermore, Korean Air also expects a reduction in the costs incurred by items being left behind in stowage bins.

Currently, KomyMirror has already been adopted as standard equipment in A330s that are owned and operated by major airlines, including Cathay Pacific, Qantas Airways, Alitalia, Scandinavian Airlines System and China Airlines.
